Breast cancer, and all that is stands for, is one of the most feared diseases among women (and also among men) in the Western World today. Statistics show that around 10% of the global population will be stricken by the disease in some form, at some time of their lives.

The statistics of breast cancer survival, on a more positive note, are encouragingly high. Most indications point to the fact of increased public awareness and women should enter into a regime of "early checking" to search for even the most remotes signs of inflammation of lumps forming in their breast, should report to their family doctor or health center immediately. The earlier the symptoms of breast cancer is detected, the better.  The more rapid the reaction the more chance to diagnose the fact that there is a cancerous growth in the breast, and to prevent the it from spreading.

Known as "early checking, this regime encourages women to check their breasts every day. This daily regime should be part of a most fundamental daily routine the level of brushing your teeth, combing your hair etc. By installing into women that to take an extra half a minute to check their breasts for suspicious signs, they may be saving themselves and their love ones a lot of pain and suffering, and possibly their own lives. Even in today's fast paced World, that still must be time well spent.

The earliest symptoms of breast cancer include:

  1. A breast that has developed a pink or purple hue.
  2. A breast that appears to have been bruised
  3. If your breast begin to feel tender than normal
  4. If your breast begin to feel firmer than normal
  5. If one of your breasts begins to appear larger than normal
  6. If you begin to experience a consistent warm feeling in your breast
  7. If you begin to experience a consistent pain in your breast
  8. If you begin to experience a consistent itching in your breast
  9. If you define a ridged skin texture in your breast.
  10. If you define a dimpled skin texture, similar to orange peel, in your breast.
  11. If you define any changes in the appearance of the skin around your nipples.
  12. If you feel a lump under the skin of your breast.
  13. If you feel a ridge under the skin of your breast.
  14. If you feel a lump around your collar bone.

This should be part of a "check list" and a daily routine with the object of diagnosing the onset of cancer at its earliest stages. At the first signs, or even if you are unsure, you should consult your doctor or local health center without delay. Your doctor is a busy man but he will not be annoyed, even if you approach him two or three or times a week. He or she will no doubt have seen the devastating effects of breast cancer at close range, and will certainly prepared to play their part in preventing the spread of this cruel disease.
